What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva focuses on direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under three brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these three brands, the business sells several bed mattress models, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Suitable for: People with more specific firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a mix of pressure relief and bounce The majority of online mattresses are foams or hybrids, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It is among the few innerspring bed mattress you can easily buy online. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a great quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also uses a generous 180-day trial duration and simple returns.

When their partner stirs might find the Saatva transfers more movement than suitable, individuals who are easily woken up People who like the hug of memory foam might not feel the Saatva adheres closely enough The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid designs. Rather, it uses an additional layer of springs within the
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving potential, the amount of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the bed mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm variation.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions below. We prepare to test the new variation quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is inherently durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which might prove valuable if you’re not exactly sure what you choose or if your needs alter with time. This is not a traditionally cushy bed mattress, however it provides a flexible cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness. Offered its natural resilience, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of professionals in the bed mattress market and in materials science; checked out dozens of mattress stores, display rooms, and factories; and read the fine print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do know that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column support”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and durable foams and coils.
