What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these 3 brand names, the company sells several bed mattress designs, consisting of the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Suitable for: People with more particular firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a mix of pressure relief and bounce A lot of online mattresses are foams or hybrids, so the Saatva Classic stands apart. It’s one of the few innerspring bed mattress you can conveniently purchase online. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also uses a generous 180-day trial period and simple returns.

The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than many hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill soak up some movement, reducing how much motion is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some movement transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs slightly more motion than the High-end Company and Firm choices.
While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving potential, the amount of pressure relief that a specific experiences on the bed mattress will vary based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Luxurious Soft variation of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Company version.
Keep in mind: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the differences below. We prepare to check the new variation soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove handy if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements change over time. This is not a conventionally soft mattress, but it provides a supple cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness.
These bed mattress were likewise assessed in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve talked to ratings of specialists in the mattress industry and in products science; checked out dozens of bed mattress shops, factories, and display rooms; and pored over the fine print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with an option of firmness levels and catering to nearly every convenience preference– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Dream Guard Mattress Protector
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. We do know that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spine assistance”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and resilient foams and coils.
