What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these three brands, the business sells a number of bed mattress designs, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Ideal for: People with more particular firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples searching for a mix of pressure relief and bounce A lot of online mattresses are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic stands out. It’s one of the few innerspring bed mattress you can conveniently purchase online. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a good quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. Also, as with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also offers a generous 180-day trial duration and simple returns.
Factors to consider: Dream Serenity 3 Inch Cool Breeze
The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some movement, lowering how much movement is felt across the surface area of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some movement transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up during the night due to the mattress’s 2 layers of springs.
Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs a little more movement than the High-end Firm and Company choices.
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that a private experiences on the bed mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most press relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Firm variation.
Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the distinctions below. We plan to evaluate the new variation soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is intrinsically durable. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might prove practical if you’re unsure what you choose or if your needs alter over time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, however it offers a supple cushion, great edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Offered its innate durability, the Zenhaven should work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These mattresses were also examined in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve talked to ratings of experts in the mattress industry and in products science; visited dozens of mattress factories, shops, and showrooms; and pored over the fine print on specifications, service warranties, and return policies.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. We do know that the business utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (rather of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and long lasting foams and coils.
