What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva focuses on direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 trademark name: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these 3 brands, the business sells a number of mattress designs, consisting of the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Suitable for: Individuals with more specific firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples searching for a mix of pressure relief and bounce The majority of online mattresses are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic stands out. It is among the few innerspring mattresses you can easily purchase online. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a good quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva likewise provides a generous 180-day trial period and easy returns.
Considerations: How Many Coils Does The New Saatva Mattress Hybrid Have
The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill soak up some motion, decreasing how much motion is felt throughout the surface area of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some movement transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up during the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs slightly more movement than the High-end Firm and Company options.
While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the bed mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Plush Soft variation of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Company variation.
Keep in mind: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences below. We prepare to evaluate the brand-new variation quickly and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove helpful if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements alter over time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, but it provides a supple cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own home. These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve interviewed ratings of specialists in the mattress industry and in materials science; visited lots of bed mattress shops, display rooms, and factories; and pored over the small print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for a number of weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. However we do understand that the business utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (instead of fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spine assistance”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and durable foams and coils.
