What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end bed mattress under 3 brand: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these 3 brand names, the business offers a number of bed mattress designs, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Perfect for: Individuals with more specific firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples searching for a mix of pressure relief and bounce The majority of online bed mattress are foams or hybrids, so the Saatva Classic stands apart. It’s one of the few innerspring bed mattress you can conveniently buy online. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. Also, just like all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, instead of in a box. Saatva likewise provides a generous 180-day trial duration and easy returns.

The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill absorb some movement, minimizing how much motion is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some movement transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs a little more movement than the High-end Firm and Firm alternatives. While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving potential, the quantity of pressure relief that a specific experiences on the bed mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Plush Soft variation of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm version.
Note: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the distinctions below. We plan to check the brand-new version quickly and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove valuable if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs change over time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, however it offers a supple cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own home. These bed mattress were also evaluated in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve interviewed scores of experts in the mattress industry and in products science; visited dozens of bed mattress showrooms, factories, and stores; and pored over the fine print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for several weeks.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– lots of with an option of firmness levels and catering to practically every comfort preference– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Saatva Mattress Polymer
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. We do understand that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spine support”; we’re less impressed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and resilient foams and coils.
