What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end bed mattress under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences listed below. We prepare to check the brand-new version quickly and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show practical if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements alter over time. For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for numerous weeks in my own house. These mattresses were likewise assessed in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve talked to ratings of experts in the mattress market and in materials science; checked out lots of mattress factories, display rooms, and shops; and read the small print on specs, guarantees, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for several weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. We do know that the business utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column assistance”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and durable foams and coils.
