Founded in 2010, Saatva focuses on direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Perfect for: People with more specific firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples trying to find a combination of pressure relief and bounce Most online bed mattress are foams or hybrids, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It is among the few innerspring bed mattress you can conveniently buy online. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic an excellent amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. Considerations: Themperpedic Memory Soft Foam Mattress
The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some motion, reducing how much motion is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some movement transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up during the night due to the bed mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva takes in slightly more motion than the High-end Company and Firm alternatives.
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that a private experiences on the bed mattress will differ based partly on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Plush Soft variation of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and assistance from the Company variation.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the distinctions listed below. We prepare to check the new version quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is intrinsically durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove handy if you’re unsure what you choose or if your requirements alter with time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, but it uses a flexible cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness. Given its inherent sturdiness, the Zenhaven must work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were likewise evaluated in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of professionals in the bed mattress market and in materials science; visited dozens of mattress display rooms, factories, and stores; and pored over the fine print on specifications, guarantees, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for several weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. However we do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column assistance”; we’re less satisfied with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
