What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under three brand: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these three brands, the business sells numerous bed mattress designs, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Suitable for: Individuals with more particular firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples trying to find a combination of pressure relief and bounce The majority of online bed mattress are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic stands out. It’s one of the few innerspring mattresses you can easily purchase online. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic an excellent amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also provides a generous 180-day trial period and easy returns.
Factors to consider: Which Magaqzine Apprved Memory Foam Mattres
The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill soak up some movement, decreasing how much movement is felt throughout the surface area of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs a little more movement than the Luxury Company and Company alternatives.
While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the bed mattress will differ based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Luxurious Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Firm version.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences below. We prepare to check the new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mainly of latex, which is inherently resilient. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might prove practical if you’re not exactly sure what you choose or if your needs change in time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness. Provided its inherent toughness, the Zenhaven needs to work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These mattresses were likewise examined in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of experts in the mattress market and in products science; visited lots of bed mattress factories, display rooms, and shops; and pored over the fine print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. However we do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (instead of fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva promotes such extras as zoned layers for “optimum spine assistance”; we’re less impressed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
